If it's Tuesday, this must be York...
The trip was planned over conference calls and e-mails. The group included Mike Staley and Janice Fletcher
from Tofino, BC, Nicole Sutton, Paula Sutton and her boyfriend David from Vancouver, BC, and Ryan Staley and Janine Petty
from Calgary.
We had lots of family to visit, lots of sites to see and not very much time but we managed to pack a lot in.
April
21 - Ryan departs Calgary on a direct flight to London.
April 22 - Ryan arrives London, checks into his hostel and
explores the city before crashing into a very deep sleep.
April 23 - Ryan explores the city with "Nick" who doesn't
speak much english but is happy to wonder the city and talk pictures.
April 24 - Ryan meets the Vancouver/Tofino contingent
at Heathrow and they head out for Abergavenny in Wales to visit Granny.
April 25-30 - Touring
April 30 - Ryan
and Mike head to the Glasgow airport to pick up Janine who's flight has been delayed 1 1/2 hours at Heathrow Airport.
May
1 - Ryan, Janine, Nicole, Paula and Dave head into Endinburagh to explore the castle and take in some of the city.
May
2 - The "Kids" follow Dave's cousins on a wild ride(the roads are very narrow and speeds are very high) through the highlands.
May 3 - The whole crew heads down the East coast to a town near New Castle Upon Tyne to meet up with Dave's family
for dinner.
May 4 - Dave and Paula stay for more visiting while Mike, Janice, Nicole, Janine and Ryan have a busy
day of site seeing and lots of driving, visiting Hadrians wall, York, and settling down for the night in Liverpool.
May
5 - Visit to The Beatles Story in Albert Dock. Head toward London with lunch in Stratford upon Avon.
May 6 - Everyone
splits up and explores London. We went to the Globe Theatre (highlight of the trip).
May 7 - Trip to Abergavenny to
visit Granny. Mike, Janine and Ryan head to Stonehenge on the way to Auntie Gail's. The rest of the family go on ahead.
May
8 - Exploring the city. We went to the transit museum and saw "Stomp"(Amazing).
May 9 - Headed out individually and
met up at Tower of London. Took a cruise on Thames. Met up to ride the British Airways London Eye.
May 10 - Time to
head home.
May 11 - First morning home.....SNOW????
